About

Alison began her financial career in the City of London in 1989 where she began her training in accountancy, qualifying as an AAT with distinction (Association of Accounting Technicians). Many fun and hardworking years in the City followed, performing management accounts for large banks such as Mizuho, CitiBank, Banca Intesa and Deutsche Bank.

Whilst growing a family, she decided to nurture her skill set and so left the city for greener pastures, refreshing her qualifications and with her IAB (International Association of Bookkeepers) accreditation, set up a partnership with a friend to offer bookkeeping services to local businesses. After many successful years, Alison embarked on a solo venture, and Flourish Accounts was born.

With a passion to problem solve, Alison is excellent at spotting patterns in people's finances, proving to be invaluable in both private and public sector accounts. She is a highly experienced bookkeeper who loves to take on a challenge, and is a expert user of Xero, FreeAgent, KashFlow, Sage and QuickBooks. Very experienced in VAT and CIS in particular, she relishes meeting new customers and helping them to make sense of their numbers.

When not looking at numbers, Alison likes to spend time with her husband and teenage son and visit the theatre. She also loves to travel to new places, and can often be found reading an atlas in preparation for her next trip. Alison winds down by playing netball at the weekends and cycling or running to keep herself healthy and happy.
